Every neighborhood has a story.
In one corner of the city stood R.V. Courts — where the buildings rose tall and close, and a worn basketball court sat right in the middle of it all. That's where Nickel James grew up.
Nickel didn't have the newest shoes or the fanciest clothes. But he had something special: Nickel James could jump. Higher than the other kids. Higher than anyone expected — even himself. Soon the whole neighborhood believed jumping was his superpower.
But at night, a storm of big feelings lived inside his chest — feelings that were hard to understand. And no matter how high he soared under the bright lights, the storm was always waiting when the crowds went home.
Then a wise coach told him something that changed everything: “You've trained your body your whole life. But you must train your mind, too.”
His greatest power had never been jumping.
Nickel James was more than jumping.
Than
Jumping
